IEA Public Policy PDF Print

Virtually every public education decision is a policy decision. Policymakers set priorities and shape key education policies. Because their decisions are important to educators and students, it is critical that educators become advocates for the profession at the local, state, and federal level. The Idaho Education Association is committed to involving our members in the policymaking arena. The effectiveness of our program is determined by your involvement.

The IEA offers a number of resources to help you stay up-to-date on important education policy issues.

  • IEA Legislative Hotline is a daily e-newsletter delivered to you each evening during the legislative session and keeps you up to date on the issues in Boise affecting your class, your school and your career. Sign up today.
  • IEA-PACE, IEA’s political action committee, serves as the political arm of IEA. IEA-PACE members voluntarily contribute to support key public education initiatives and pro-education candidates, whether Democrat, Republican, or Independent. Learn more about IEA-PACE.
  • IEA’s Legislative Agenda outlines the key goals of our Association during the current legislative session. Read the IEA Legislative Agenda.
  • IEA Grassroots Lobbying is an opportunity for members to take part in the legislative process. Join the hundreds of IEA members who have taken part in this valuable activity. Contact your region director for more information.
