Your contributions to the IEA Children’s Fund are being put to good use on an almost-daily basis. Here’s one recent example:

“My student is 17 and hadn’t had her eyes checked since she was 7. Our school nurse said, “Aren’t you a member of the education association? They can help us get glasses. Ask them.” So I did.

“When the two techs at the vision shop discovered I was escorting a student, they talked quietly together and told us to go ahead and pick out a pair of $74 frames. One of them had the authority to mark the price down to $50. So instead of one row of frames, she was able to pick from more than half the room full of frames.

“It was a real group effort--IEA Children’s Fund $110; student $20; store $24; me $5.83! We pick up the glasses on Tuesday. I’ve already got the check back from IEA to cover the one I wrote Friday.

“I believe the glasses will help my student be more successful in school and soon she may be driving.”
