Three new teachers tell why they joined IEA
Being a member of the Idaho Education Association is important to me because I know I am supporting my profession and the people I work with. When I joined the IEA in my very first year of teaching, I joined a group of people in my school who are as committed to and excited about teaching as I was. And we still are! Joining the Association has helped me be involved in educational issues in a positive and proactive way, and that’s important to me!
Joyce Rudeen
Orofino High School
I’m a new teacher and I joined my first year. I knew the Association would be there for me. The Association supports teachers and students and has their best interest at heart. I have made friends because of my membership. These friendships have strengthened me as a teacher.
Todd Hardy
Post Falls High School
It is our responsibility to support the organization that does so much to advance our profession. The IEA works with state agencies whose decisions affect education, helps to increase our salaries, strengthens the quality of education, and improves our working environment. Everyone working together provides the best opportunity for students to succeed.
